If you have a car that does not run and is so low in value that making the repairs doesn't make financial sense, you may find yourself wondering what to do with the car. In this case, selling the junk car to a pick-n-pull lot or to a company that recycles the scrap metal from your car may be the best options. Unfortunately, there are many myths out there in regards to selling a junk car. Here are three myths that you should know about if you are considering doing this and the truth surrounding these myths.
Myth 1: You Won't Get Any Money for a Junk Car
One of the myths is that you cannot get any money out of a junk car. After all, who wants a car that doesn't run? But the truth is, you can get money out of the car. Your car may have parts that people can pick off and use on their car restoration or repair projects. And even if it doesn't your car is made of steel, which can be melted down and recycled. As such, there is value in the steel that will be recycled, which is why these companies pay you for your junk car.
Myth 2: You Can Sell a Junk Car Without the Title
Another common myth is that you can sell a junk car without a title. This is not true. You will need the title to sell the junk car. You must be the party named on the title and if two people are named on the title, both must sign off in order to sell the car. This is to ensure that the owner is indeed authorizing the car to be sold. If you don't have a title, duplicate titles are available at your DMV office.
Myth 3: You Have to Bring the Junk Car to the Buyer
The last myth in regards to selling junk cars is that you have to somehow find a way to get your car to the junk buyer. Most junk buyers own their own tow truck and will send it out to you to pick up the truck. They know that the majority of junk cars do not run and want to make it easy for you to get the car to them. When you are looking to sell junk car, always ask the buyer if they handle the towing of the car.
Selling a junk car is not going to make you rich. But it can help you get rid of a car you otherwise have no use for and put a little bit of money in your wallet. If you are looking to sell a junk car, contact various buyers who buy junk cars and get estimates to find out how much they will pay you. This will help you get the maximum amount of money from your old car.

Recently we did a home remodel of the bathroom and kitchen. We needed an efficient way to haul away the accumulated debris. Dumpster rental was our practical solution for residential waste removal. Although dumpsters of various sizes were available, we chose the 20-yard model. It measured about 20 feet in length and 42 inches in height. With a capacity to hold a few tons of waste materials, this option suited us fine. We especially liked that the dumpster was delivered to our property and picked up at our specified time. By not having to park the dumpster on the street, we didn't have to worry about acquiring a permit. Less hassle and stress is fine with me. The dumpster rental also included the transfer of recyclables to a recycling facility. Next time you need your trash hauled away, why not consider dumpster rental as a practical solution?
